| Melanie withdrew her hand from it's place in her pocket, folding her arms. The metal was hidden by her sleeve, and she gave the man a cold stare.
"What are you doing?" She asked calmly, "Why are you following me?"

| "I have no obligation to answer that." Melanie replied coolly, keeping her head raised high. He had no right to question her, she was a marine lieutenant, and what was he? Some bounty hunter. Sari cawed from her perch on Melanie's shoulder, her cold black eyes staring at the man as well.
"But you must answer mine, for I am of a higher rank, and you had no right to follow me." She added as an afterthought.

| "Why don't you mind your own business?" Melanie snapped, giving him a steely glare. Sari let out another caw, shooting up into the air. She headed back towards the marine base, and Melanie didn't even bat an eye.
"It wasn't a random corpse," She added under her breath, to soft to reach his ears, "This is none of your concern"

| "Melanie." She replied, watching him carefully. After a moment's study, she stepped forward and gripped his forearm-the greeting of the days of old. She held his arm for a moment, still glaring into his eyes. Upon deciding her had nothing up this sleeve, she stepped back again, letting go.
"Why." | |

| Melanie frowned, watching his sit on a box he had floated to himself, crossing his legs. Melanie's eyes narrowed when he didn't answer her question. She shook her head at the apple offered to her, staring emotionlessly at Tom.
"Not hungry." | |

| Melanie refused to sit, not wanting to touch anything he had used his power for. With the exception of Sari, of course.
"What do you want?" She demanded, watching him with narrowed eyes.

| "I'm flattered." Melanie rolled her eyes skeptically, though she knew full well how great her skills were. At least, that was how she saw herself, unbeatable. She turned her gaze back to him, giving him a cold hard stare. Not a glare, just a look, burning into curiosity.
"You don't need to know of my style." She added, "It is none of your concern."

| "Which is precisely the reason I'll not be telling you." Melanie retorted, giving the man a glare. "I am not so stupid that I would give away such information so easily. The only way you'll find out is actually in battle, and right now, I'd prefer for that not to happen."
Melanie watched the stone he was spinning in the air, despising his Devil's Fruit more by the minute. He was slowly applying pressure to it, she could tell by the way it was cracking. "If we ever do meet in combat, you'll not enjoy it." She added confidently.

| "Do I look like I care?" Melanie snapped, "I already know you have telekenisis, which crosses off one my means of fighting. But I'm still strong and skilled enough to deal with you just fine. I'm a marine Lieutenant in case you haven't noticed!" She sneered at him, giving the man a glare.
She watched with narrowed eyes as the little rock pieces spun around his body, sometimes hitting him. She frowned, wondered why he wasn't able to keep them away.
